Duty-of-care platform for multinational employers

Know your people abroad are safe.

When something goes wrong overseas, the teams who own traveller safety shouldn't be reconstructing an itinerary from old emails. SOS Global gives them one console for every trip, check-in and alert — and gives staff a safety app they'll actually use.

Capabilities

Everything a duty-of-care programme needs

From the first trip request to the post-incident report — in one licensed platform.

Trip-based workforce register

See who is where by trip and deployment — consent-based, privacy-first, no covert GPS surveillance of staff.

Automated check-ins

Flexible one-to-30-minute incident cadences; missed check-ins escalate to your admin team and on-call responders within minutes.

Journey Management Plans

Travellers submit plans or responders push auto-approved plans to them, with timed check-ins from departure to arrival.

Pre-travel risk approvals

High-risk destinations auto-flag for sign-off, with acknowledged briefings recorded against each traveller.

Mass crisis broadcast

Push an alert to everyone in — or booked to — a country by push, SMS and email, and track acknowledgements live.

Geofenced high-risk zones

Draw a zone; staff are warned on entry and your responders get the alert at the same moment.

Incident & case management

An immutable, timestamped log of what happened and how it was resolved — exportable for compliance reporting.

Nearby colleague response

After an SOS, show nearby consenting, checked-in colleagues by distance and direction, then alert those people in one tap.

Staff safety app

One-tap local emergency numbers, guided incident protocols, medical card, embassy details, what3words and offline access.

Live country risk data

Threat levels synced nightly from US State Department and UK FCDO advisories, alongside your own briefings.

Offline situational phrasebook

Categorised emergency phrases in 12 languages, cached for offline use, with a high-contrast mode staff can hand to someone else.

White-label & multi-tenant

Your logo, your colours, your roles: Owner, Admin, Emergency Admin, Viewer and field staff.

Platform

One console from the first trip request to the post-incident report

Three moments decide whether a duty-of-care programme works: before they fly, while they are there, and when something goes wrong.

While they are there

Stop asking “where is everyone?” — the console already knows

Search hundreds of staff, filter by risk level or check-in status, and see instantly who needs attention. Live threat ratings sync nightly from US State Department and UK FCDO advisories, so everyone is working from the same picture as your responders.

  • Roster ranked by who needs attention, not alphabetically
  • Missed check-ins escalate automatically to the on-call responder
  • Role-based access for security, travel risk and on-call responders
SOS Global workforce map with globe controls, selected traveller details and searchable assigned roster
SOS Global daily check-in board showing checked-in, due and missed staff with escalation controls
When someone misses a check-in

See the gap, then start the response

The daily board separates staff who are safe, still due and already missed. Responders can identify who needs attention and begin the organisation’s escalation process from the same screen.

  • Local cut-off times shown clearly for each traveller
  • Missed staff separated from routine outstanding check-ins
  • Search and filter across teams, countries and status

When a country turns

Reach everyone in a country in under a minute

A crisis broadcast targets everyone currently in — or booked to travel to — an affected country or region. Delivery goes out by push, SMS and email, and acknowledgement is tracked person by person until the list is clear.

  • Audience resolved automatically from live trips and deployments
  • Unacknowledged staff escalate to their team leads
  • Every message and response stored for the post-incident report
Before they fly

Pre-travel approvals that stand up to scrutiny

Trips to high-risk destinations are flagged for sign-off automatically. Travellers acknowledge the country briefing, approvers record their decision, and the whole chain is timestamped — the documented process ISO 31030 asks for.

  • Risk rating drives the workflow, not manual judgement
  • Briefing acknowledgement recorded per traveller
  • Exportable register for auditors and insurers

SOS Global Journey Management Plans showing overdue, active, pending, completed and approved journeys
Before the vehicle moves

Journey plans work in both directions

A traveller can submit a route for approval, or a central responder can create an approved plan and send it directly to a named traveller. Starting either plan creates the same timed check-in schedule through to arrival.

  • Origin, destination, waypoints, driver and vehicle in one plan
  • Admin-pushed plans are clearly attributed and ready to start
  • Missed journey check-ins automatically open a central incident
When it goes wrong

A case record, and a responder who is awake

Every SOS opens a central case immediately, asks the traveller what happened, then guides them through the right protocol, nearby colleague response and short check-ins.

SOS Global incident feed with open and resolved case structure, live SOS status, filters and an expanded timeline

From first alert to resolution — exportable for insurers and auditors.

Questions travel risk teams ask us

Is this tracking employees?

No. Visibility is trip-based and consent-driven. Staff choose to share live location, and can see exactly what their employer can see. Continuous covert tracking is deliberately not part of the product.

How does it help with ISO 31030?

Risk-rated destinations, a documented pre-travel approval flow, acknowledged briefings, check-ins and an immutable incident log give you the evidence trail the standard expects.

What happens when someone presses SOS?

The alert, location and medical card go straight to your Emergency Admins by push, SMS and email, and open a case in the incident register automatically. Organisations confirm their on-call coverage before staff go live, so every alert always has someone assigned to reach it.

How do we roll it out?

Buy annual seats, assign them to deployed staff, and park or reassign as roles change. Staff install a lightweight app — no app store approval delays.

How is our information protected?

The platform runs on Supabase-hosted cloud infrastructure, with data encrypted in transit and at rest. Role-based access controls limit information to authorised people within your organisation. Our Privacy Policy sets out how data is handled and lists the categories of subprocessors we use. Read the Privacy Policy.

Let’s talk about your duty-of-care programme

Tell us where your people work, how you currently manage travel risk, and what your response team needs. We’ll arrange a focused conversation and tailored demonstration.
